What is this service?

With the success of our ebanking products we are now launching a revolutionary first-of-its kind deposit account for Pakistanis all over the globe. Now Pakistani Nationals who are residing in foreign countries can open and maintain a UBL account in Pakistan - completely online (starting with select countries)

Who is a Non-Resident Pakistani (NRP)?

You are an NRP if as a Pakistani citizen you are staying abroad for employment or carrying on business outside Pakistan OR staying abroad under circumstances that indicate an intention for uncertain duration of stay abroad.

How do I open my account?

All you have to do is download the account opening form downloading and after filling it completely, attach the requisite documents that include a cheque of any bank in the country from where you are applying. Send the completed application through Courier/Postal services to UBL eBanking Operations. The address is mentioned on the web site.

The entire process is simple, fast and convenient.

How long does it take to open an account?

In most cases normally it takes 30 to 35 business days for the account opening after that you will receive your new account information (account number and procedure to log on to Net Banking). After that you will receive the Cheque Book & ATM card in about 3 weeks time via courier on your registered mailing address.

How can I prevent delays in opening of the account?

Make sure you attach all the mentioned documents and the cheque with your account opening form. Fill out all the mandatory fields and other information fields so that we have your complete information.

After your account opening requirements are received at UBL eBanking Operations, We will verify the information you have provided & documents you have attached. Therefore, it is extremely important that the documents & information that you provide is correct and complete.

Do I need to submit any documents to open the NRP Direct account?

In order to open an NRP Direct account you have to submit the below documents:

  • Proof of employment
  • Salary slip
  • Reference of employer OR in case of self- employed proof of business license
  • Cheque of any bank in the country from where you are applying. The Cheque will be of a minimum amount of PKR 50,000
  • Copy of passport (Photo ID)
  • Statement of the bank account
Can I have a joint account?

Yes, you can have an individual or joint account.

Can I deposit a third party cheque in my account?

Yes, you can deposit third party cheque like any other regular account.

How can I request for ATM Card?

To request your ATM, just login to UBL Netbanking and go to 'Manage ATM Cards' page and follow the instructions.

What are Primary & Supplementary ATM cards?

Primary ATM card is the main ATM card issued in the name of the account holder. Supplementary Cards are additional cards against the same account but may bear a different name (e.g., wife's name, mother's name, etc.)

You must request your Primary card before you can request a supplementary card. Your Primary card will be mailed to your registered mailing address. Although, you cannot use this card in other countries but you can carry the card with you on your visits to Pakistan. If you choose to request one or more supplementary cards, the cards will be mailed to the beneficiary.

What would my withdrawing limit be?

The daily withdrawal limit on the UBL ATM Gold card is Rs. 40,000/-.

What service charges are applicable on the account?

Can I issue a cheque to someone in Pakistan from the country where I reside?

You can avail our TezRaftaar facility through UBL Netbanking to quickly deliver a pay order to anyone in Pakistan. Also once you have your cheque book, you can write a cheque and do the same.

How can I get a cheque book?

After you have received your account information on your email, normally it takes 2 weeks to deliver the Cheque Book to your address.

If you require a new or extra cheque book please download, complete and mail the Specimen Signature Form and Cheque Book Form available on our website.
