Q. What is Verified by Visa (VbV) 3D Secure Service?

Verified by Visa (VbV) 3D Secure is a service introduced by Visa and UBL that provides additional security when you perform the transaction online. This service will authenticate the genuineness of customer by asking to input the One Time Password (OTP) on 3D Secure merchant website sent on the mobile number registered with the Bank.

Q. What is meant by One Time Password (OTP)?

One Time Password (OTP) is a 6 digit verification code sent to you on the mobile number registered with the Bank to complete the online transaction.

Q. What is the registration process for 3D Secure?

No prior registration is required for Verified by Visa (VbV) 3D Secure Service. All UBL Visa debit cardholders with valid mobile number registered with the bank can avail this service.

Q. Is there any charges applied by the Bank for 3D Secure Service?

There is no charge applied by UBL for using Verified by Visa (VbV) 3D Secure Service.

Q. What is the validity period of an OTP?

OTP sent on your registered mobile number will be valid for 15 minutes.

Q. What should I do if I do not receive an OTP?

In case you do not receive an OTP, you can click the “Resend” button to get the new OTP.

Q. What should I do if I do not receive an OTP even after clicking the “Resend” button?

In such case, please visit your branch or call UBL Contact Center to update your mobile number

Q. What will happen if I enter an invalid OTP?

If the invalid OTP is entered three times, your card will be blocked for online transactions and you have to call UBL Contact Center to activate your card for the service.

Q. Will I receive an OTP for all online transactions?

Yes. You will receive an OTP for all online transactions if the merchant website is 3D Secure enabled.

OTP authentication process will not be required for non-3D Secure merchant website.

Q. How will I know if the merchant website is 3D Secure or not?

Verified by Visa (VbV) logo will be displayed on merchant website if you perform the transaction on 3D Secure enabled merchant.

Q. Will I receive an SMS after performing the online transaction?

Yes. You will receive an SMS for all successful online transaction performed on your Visa debit card.

Q. What should I do if I suspect any fraudulent activity on my card?
